Burst Blocker® Excess Flow Adapters

Installation Instructions

Supply Lines older than 2 years must be replaced to prevent slow leaks on the old fittings.

Faucets

  • Step 1. Turn off the Water Supply to the Faucet, at the shutoff valves under the sink.

  • Step 2. With a Wrench, remove the Supply Line from the Stop Valve.

  • Step 3. Make sure the Washer is in place in the Female Side of the Burst Blocker Adapter.

  • Step 4. Screw the Burst Blocker Adapter on to the Stop Valve and screw down hand tight.

  • Step 5. With a Wrench, tighten the Burst Blocker Adapter ¾ turn.

  • Step 6. Reattach the Supply Line to the Burst Blocker Adapter and tighten.

  • Step 7. Repeat for the other side of Faucet.

  • Step 8. Turn Water Supply to the FULL ON position. ( Minimum GPM required is 2.5 GPM for the Burst Blocker to function. ) Check for leaks.

Dishwashers

  • Step 1. Turn off the Water Supply to the Dishwasher.

  • Step 2. With a Wrench, remove the Supply Line from the Stop Valve.

  • Step 3. Make sure the Washer is in place in the Female Side of the Burst Blocker Adapter.

  • Step 4. Screw the Burst Blocker Adapter on to the Stop Valve and screw down hand tight.

  • Step 5. With a Wrench, tighten the Burst Blocker Adapter ¾ turn.

  • Step 6. Reattach the Supply Line to theBurst Blocker Adapter and tighten.

  • Step 8. Turn Water Supply to the FULL ON position. ( Minimum GPM required is 2.5 GPM for the Burst Blocker to function. ) Check for leaks.

Ice Makers

  • Step 1. Turn off the Water Supply to the Ice Maker.

  • Step 2. With a Wrench, remove the Supply Line from the Stop Valve.

  • Step 3. Make sure the Washer is in place in the Female Side of the Burst Blocker Adapter.

  • Step 4. Screw the Burst Blocker Adapter on to the Stop Valve and screw down hand tight.

  • Step 5. With a Wrench, tighten the Burst Blocker Adapter ¾ turn.

  • Step 6. Reattach the Supply Line to the Burst Blocker Adapter and tighten.

  • Step 8. Turn Water Supply to the FULL ON position. ( Minimum GPM required is 1.5 GPM for the Burst Blocker to function. ) Check for leaks.

Toilets

  • Step 1. Turn off the Water Supply to the Toilet.

  • Step 2. With a Wrench, remove the Supply Line from the Stop Valve.

  • Step 3. Make sure the Washer is in place in the Female Side of the Burst Blocker Adapter.

  • Step 4. Screw the Burst Blocker Adapter on to the Stop Valve and screw down hand tight.

  • Step 5. With a Wrench, tighten the Burst Blocker Adapter ¾ turn.

  • Step 6. Reattach the Supply Line to the Burst Blocker Adapter and tighten.

  • Step 8. Turn Water Supply to the FULL ON position. ( Minimum GPM required is 2.5 GPM for the Burst Blocker to function. ) Check for leaks.

Toilets

  • Step 1. Turn off the Water Supply to the Toilet.

  • Step 2. With a Wrench, remove the Supply Line from the Stop Valve.

  • Step 3. Make sure the Washer is in place in the Female Side of the Burst Blocker Adapter.

  • Step 4. Screw the Burst Blocker Adapteron to the Stop Valve and screw down hand tight.

  • Step 5. With a Wrench, tighten the Burst Blocker Adapter ¾ turn.

  • Step 6. Reattach the Supply Line to the Burst Blocker Adapter and tighten.

  • Step 8. Turn Water Supply to the FULL ON position. ( Minimum GPM required is 2.5 GPM for the Burst Blocker to function. ) Check for leaks.
Washing Machine Hoses older than 2 years must be replaced to prevent slow leaks on the old fittings.

Washing Machines

  • Step 1. Turn off the Water Supply to the Washing Machine.

  • Step 2. With a Wrench, remove the Supply Line/Washing Machine Hose from the Stop Valve.

  • Step 3. Make sure the Washer is in place in the Female Side of the Burst Blocker Adapter.

  • Step 4. Screw the Burst Blocker Adapter on to the Stop Valve and screw down hand tight.

  • Step 5. With a Wrench, tighten the Burst Blocker Adapter ¾ turn.

  • Step 6. Reattach the Supply Line/Washing Machine Hose to the Burst Blocker Adapter and tighten.

  • Step 7. Repeat for the other side of the Washing Machine.

  • Step 8. Turn Water Supply to the FULL ON position. ( Minimum GPM required is 3.0 GPM for the Burst Blocker to function. ) Check for leaks.

Dishwashers

  • Step 1. Turn off the Water Supply to the Dishwasher.

  • Step 2. With a Wrench, remove the Supply Line from the Stop Valve.

  • Step 3. Make sure the Washer is in place in the Female Side of the Burst Blocker Adapter.

  • Step 4. Screw the Burst Blocker Adapter on to the Stop Valve and screw down hand tight.

  • Step 5. With a Wrench, tighten the Burst Blocker Adapter ¾ turn.

  • Step 6. Reattach the Supply Line to the Burst Blocker Adapter and tighten.

  • Step 8. Turn Water Supply to the FULL ON position. ( Minimum GPM required is 2.5 GPM for the Burst Blocker to function. ) Check for leaks.

Ice Makers

  • Step 1. Turn off the Water Supply to the Ice Maker.

  • Step 2. With a Wrench, remove the Supply Line from the Stop Valve.

  • Step 3. Make sure the Washer is in place in the Female Side of the Burst Blocker Adapter.

  • Step 4. Screw the Burst Blocker Adapter on to the Stop Valve and screw down hand tight.

  • Step 5. With a Wrench, tighten the Burst Blocker Adapter ¾ turn.

  • Step 6. Reattach the Supply Line to the Burst Blocker Adapter and tighten.

  • Step 8. Turn Water Supply to the FULL ON position. ( Minimum GPM required is 1.5 GPM for the Burst Blocker to function. ) Check for leaks.

Pipe Adapters

  • Step 1. Turn off the Main Water Supply to the House.

  • Step 2. With a Wrench, remove the Valve from the Inlet Pipe.

  • Step 3. Make sure to use Pipe Joint Compound or Teflon Tape on both Male Threads.

  • Step 4. Screw the Burst Blocker Adapter on to the Inlet Pipe and screw down hand tight.

  • Step 5. With a Wrench, tighten the Burst Blocker Adapter ¾ turn.

  • Step 6. Reattach the Valve to the Burst Blocker Adapter and tighten.

  • Step 8. Turn Water Supply to the FULL ON position. ( Minimum GPM required is 2.5 GPM for the Burst Blocker to function. ) Check for leaks.

  • Step 1. Turn off the Main Water Supply to the House.

  • Step 2. With a Wrench, remove the Valve from the Inlet Pipe.
